Walthamstow Beer is a community hop growing beer brewing project getting people together in Walthamstow.

Do you have a garden, allotment, balcony, patio or community space where you could grow a dwarf hop?
How it works:
Lots of lovely people in Walthamstow buy hop rhizomes for £20 from Walthamstow Beer. If one of those lovely people is you, you’ll plant the rhizomes at the end of March, nurture and love them and all being well harvest them in early September. On harvest day, together with all the other Walthamstow Beer hop growers, you’ll take your lovingly grown hops to a local brewer who will turn them into beer.
Once it’s ready we all get together to sample some of our handiwork. The rest gets sold in pubs & festivals so you get to continue enjoying the fruits of your labour long into the new year.
What you get:
You don’t need loads of experience growing things. Just a healthy dash of enthusiasm! We will work with other successful local hop growing projects (Brixton & Hackney) to provide everything you need to start growing hops.
Your £20 gets you a hop starter pack (£10 per additional hop plant), information on growing, advice and how to videos during the year and of course beer at the harvest day event.
Walthamstow Beer is not got profit. We want to bring people together, encourage the growth of green fingers and have a jolly good time whilst at it.
